When to Replace Sprinkler Guts
When a sprinkler is broken but the body is not damaged, you can replace the guts instead of the whole sprinkler. This method works for both pop-ups and rotors, saving you time and money on repairs.

Expose enough of the sprinkler to have access to the top. Unthread the top retaining ring of the sprinkler that contains the guts and remove them. Remember, the replacement guts must be from the exact same model of sprinkler for this repair to work.
Remove the guts from a new sprinkler head of the same model. This will be your replacement part for the damaged sprinkler.
Simply insert the new guts into the old sprinkler head body and tighten the retaining ring. Insert the proper nozzle to complete the repair. This method allows you to fix your sprinkler efficiently without replacing the entire unit.
